Like where you heading with this character. Its looking nicely balanced in terms pose and depth of character / armour etc.
However, be careful not to jump FULLY in to digital just because! Keep working with a pencil too. Graduate from one to another rather than jump before you're completely ready.
For example, all of the guys on the Gnomon concept art / character/ maya modelling / ZBrush dvd's have years of experience in traditional painting first. Which is why they make it look easy.
My advice is to work dually - traditional and digital. Elevate your skills together so they support each other.
