Hi Jonny, I know you're dealing with her personal textures, but on the back wall, you need a play of light - cast from a gas-lamp to not only lift the darkness, but also throw her forward and give further impact to the snakes - just something expressionistic - maybe light through somekind of grille or mesh? Again - I know you've got bigger fish to fry, but all that black is swallowing her up a bit...
